Bar Back – House of Social Food Hall, Manchester
Rate: £12.21
Hours Per Week: Full-time
Working Patterns: Our Bar Back's work collaboratively throughout the working week Tuesday – Sunday. Shifts can start as early as 7am and finish as late as 2am. Days and hours will rotate weekly subject to demands and team availability.
House of Social Food Hall is Manchester’s newest and most exciting food hall. A collection of five independent kitchens, serving food and drink to suit every taste and time. We’re looking for energetic and proactive Bar Backs to join our team to support with the delivery of our premium standards.
Located on two levels of Vita Group’s purpose built student accommodation concept House of Social, the new venue spans 12,000 square feet of brand new dining and drinking space.
Our Bar Back's
Play a vital support role in delivering seamless, elegant service in a premium dining environment, keeping the bar's running smoothly behind the scenes and supporting the bartenders to deliver fast, top-quality service.
- Restock spirits, kegs, glassware, ice, and garnishes throughout service.
- Keep bar areas clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times.
- Collect and wash glassware quickly and efficiently.
- Assist bartenders with preparing garnishes and setting up stations before service.
- Receive and help check off deliveries of bar stock, ensuring items are correctly stored and rotated.
- Help move and organise stock between storage areas and the bar.
- Support with waste disposal and recycling during and after shifts.
- Step in to help with floor running or guest support when required.

House of Social boasts 5 individual kitchens, delivering variety and luxury food and drink offerings to our guests. Our aim is to guarantee the best social experience to all customers and our House of Social Student residents. Our Bar Back's play a critical role ensuring seamless operations. We are looking for:
Professional Experience
- Experience in food & beverage, preferably in a high volume setting
- Previous experience in hospitality a plus but not essential.
- Our operations run seamlessly with the support of a variety of technology systems and software; our Bar Back's must be technologically astute.

- High energy, a can-do attitude, and strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication skills. English will be the primary spoken language; however multi-lingual skills would be warmly welcomed.

- Resilience, with an ability to effectively navigate unexpected situations.
- Able to carry out tasks that may involve extended periods of standing and repetitive movements, with reasonable adjustments considered where required.
- Flexibility: Our facilities are open to customers 6 days a week including bank holidays, festive & religious breaks. Where festive and religious celebrations require time off, we will always try to accommodate, however flexibility from our Bar Back's is required
